How to Make a Polymer Clay Figurine

Necessary Materials

• Polymer clay – your choice: in packets or in a set
• Set of tools for working with clay
• Small decorative stones for decoration
• Universal glue
• Toothpick
• Glass surface
• Baking paper
• Oven for baking

Step 1: Preparing the Clay

• Take the clay out of its protective foil (it prevents it from drying out).
• Start softening it with your hands, as you would with plasticine, until it becomes soft and easy to model.

Step 2: Creating the Main Shape

• We decided to make an ice cream on a stick – but you can choose any figurine you like.
• Shape a ball, then use your palms to give it an oval shape.
• This is the base of the ice cream.

Step 3: Decorating and Finishing

• Choose another color for the icing (in our case – purple).
• Cut off a small amount, knead it, and roll it out.
• Using an angled tool, shape the icing and place it over the base, smoothing the edges.
• Use a tool to cut out part of the ice cream so it looks “bitten”.
• Prepare beige clay for the stick and filling.
• Place the figurine on a ceramic cup (optional).
• Start decorating with stones – use a toothpick and a little glue. Outline the icing for a striking result.
• When you are ready, carefully remove the figurine from the cup and place it on baking paper.
• Bake in the oven at 170–180°C for 20–30 minutes, depending on
