How to Create a Hemp Wall Panel with Canvas and Twine – Easy DIY Project

Step 1: Preparing the Canvas
Before you start, plug in the hot glue gun so it can heat up. During this time, you can strengthen the canvas by using the wooden wedges that come with it. Place them in the corners under the stretcher frame – one vertically, the other horizontally – to stretch the fabric further and make your work easier.
Step 2: Wrapping the Twine
Once the glue is ready, unwind a long strand of the thin twine.
- Apply a little glue to the back of the canvas and attach the end of the twine.
- Start wrapping the twine tightly around the canvas, covering the surface evenly.
- When you have covered the desired section, cut the twine and glue its end.
Continue with thicker twine, wrapping it in the opposite direction to create an interesting effect with different texture and thread direction. Repeat the process until the canvas is completely covered.
