How to Create a Cactus Decoration from EVA Foam – DIY Project

Required Materials
To create your EVA cactus, you will need the following materials:

- Crepe paper
- Tape roll (for the pot)
- Templates for cutting the leaves
- Hot glue and glue gun

- Twine, trim or satin ribbon for decoration
Steps for Creating a Cactus from EVA Foam
Step 1: Preparing the Templates for the Cactus
The first step in this craft project is to prepare templates for the cactus leaves. If you don’t have ready-made templates, you can easily draw several by hand, imitating the shape of cactus leaves. Use green EVA foam to cut out these shapes, making 6 larger and the same number of smaller leaves. This will add volume and realism to your cactus.
Step 2: Cutting Out the Leaves
Fold the foam in half to make it easier to cut symmetrical leaves. Use the templates to outline the shapes on it and cut them out carefully, or hold them firmly while cutting, to achieve precise and even shapes.
Step 3: Creating the Pot
Use an old tape roll, which will serve as the pot for your cactus. Make a bottom for the pot by outlining, cutting and gluing with hot glue an EVA circle to the underside of the roll. Cover it with another piece of foam. Use crepe paper to fill the inside of the roll and create an imitation of soil and a stable base for the cactus.
Step 4: Assembling the Cactus
Fold the cactus leaves down the middle and glue them to each other only along their inner edge. Then open them and join the first and last leaf with hot glue so that they form a round shape and look like a cactus. Repeat the same with the smaller part of the cactus.
Step 5: Final Touches and Decoration
Decorate the pot with twine, burlap ribbon or
