How to Create a Beautiful Wooden Sign for Decoration

Introduction

Handmade decorations bring uniqueness and coziness to the home. Today we will show you how to easily create a wooden sign using accessible materials and tools. This project is ideal for beginners and fans of DIY projects.

Necessary Materials

• Wooden spatulas
• Napkins for decoupage
• Craft glue
• Paints – base color and accent colors (e.g. white, purple, beige)
• Sponge dauber and brush
• Hot glue sticks and glue gun
• Twine
• Cutting pliers

Steps for Creating the Wooden Sign

1. Prepare the Base

• Take 10 wooden spatulas and arrange them parallel next to each other.
• To stabilize them, glue one spatula crosswise at the top and bottom using hot glue.
• Cut off the excess parts of the crosswise spatulas with pliers to get a clean finish.

2. Create a Little House

• From the remaining spatulas, shape a "roof" for the sign so it resembles a little house, gluing 2x2 spatulas for each side of the roof.
• Glue them onto the base using hot glue, applying glue only in the center.
• Once all the spatulas are glued, cut off the excess ends with pliers to achieve the desired shape.

3. Painting

• Apply white paint using a foam dauber, covering both sides well.
• Let the paint dry for about 5 minutes.
• With a thin brush, apply accent colors of acrylic paint (for example purple or beige), creating a "scratch" effect for a more interesting look.

4. Decoupage

• Choose a decoupage napkin with the desired motif.
• Apply craft glue to the sign and carefully glue the napkin, then apply more glue over it.
• Make two more little houses, following the same steps.
