HANDMADE CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT

HANDMADE CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT

As I promised, we will continue with the next Christmas treat.

Today, I’ll show you how to quickly and easily make a unique and interesting Christmas mitten using the decoupage technique.

The steps are very simple and can be followed by both children and adults.

Create these beautiful decorations together with your children and feel the Christmas spirit.

When children engage in any kind of art, they become much more creative — their imagination, fine motor skills, and motivation to create something on their own all develop. The bond between children and parents becomes much stronger when you do something together, share a common hobby, and especially when you decorate your home together for the brightest Christian holidayChristmas.

Let’s get started!

I’ll describe in detail how I made the mitten, all the materials I used, and the technique I applied. Please leave a comment on the article and share your opinion — was it useful for you? Upload pictures of the decorations you made with your children. Let’s have fun together!

Materials needed:

MDF mitten

(You can also use another MDF shape)

Napkin of your choice

White acrylic paint by LORCA

Brush

Yacht varnish

Decoupage glue

Metallic acrylic paint

Hot glue gun

Hot glue sticks

Decorations of your choice — I used the following:

Flower bouquet

Stamens

Flower buds bouquet

Pine cones

Here are the steps:

Wait for the paint to dry and place only the top layer of the napkin over the mitten.

Carefully apply the decoupage glue using a brush.

After the glue dries, use a nail file to remove the excess napkin, as shown in the picture. Then repeat these two steps on the other side of the mitten.

Use a sponge to gently apply paint along the edges.

Our Christmas ornament is almost ready. The final step is to decorate it as you wish and add a string if you want to hang it on the Christmas tree. I use a hot glue gun to attach various flowers and stamens.
