AMAZING WEDDING DAY CARDS

Heading to a wedding? Why not make a handmade greeting card? Brides and grooms will truly appreciate the time and special effort you’ve put into creating an original congratulatory card. Best of all, the emotions written inside will come straight from your heart.

It’s important to choose the right shape and size of the wedding card long before you reach the mailbox or the moment of giving it.

Every year, new trends appear in the world of weddings, and although the classics are always timeless, we can’t help but draw attention to something new and inspiring. Your card should hint at the wedding theme and reflect your mood and emotions. Take a look at some ideas for wedding day card styles.

WATERCOLOR INSPIRATION

A sense of lightness, freedom, and boundless joy – these are the feelings evoked by watercolor cards. When choosing the design, you can go for bright, dynamic motifs that spark imagination, or opt for soft pastel tones that create a romantic atmosphere. The perfect finishing touch will be flowers – delicate and incredibly gentle.

BOHEMIAN BRIGHTNESS

Boho-style cards feature rich, vibrant colors that evoke happiness and joy. Don’t be afraid to unleash your creativity. Feel free to experiment with different textures, colors, and unusual materials.

For this style, it’s perfectly appropriate to use fabrics, fringes, beads, and lace. At the same time, a Boho card can also be very simple — made from cardboard and decorated with flowers and subtle feathers.

PASTEL FAIRYTALE

A pastel-colored card is a wonderful choice for any wedding. Its design is characterized by restraint and elegance. Choose a color that matches the overall tone of the celebration and rest assured that everyone will appreciate your fine taste. The most popular shades of the year are mint and lavender.

Greeting cards are a wonderful invention. They are both a need and a creation of human instinct. Wherever there are people, there will be a need for greeting cards, and different people will seek different styles of expression.

In human communication, conveying emotions not only requires a heart-to-heart connection but also a physical representation.

Therefore, in today’s ever-accelerating pace of life, on special occasions, people may wish to take a pen so that love and thoughts are not only kept in the heart but also expressed through cards. For many, receiving a greeting card is an irreplaceable joy.

Top 3 Wedding Day Card Ideas

Learn how to make handmade 3D greeting cards by following this easy step-by-step tutorial from EM ART.

Idea 1

Pop-up cards look absolutely beautiful. Such a gift will be greatly appreciated by the newlyweds. You can create a three-dimensional card using the pop-up technique and gift it to your loved ones.

First, prepare everything you’ll need:

First, draw a flower template. You can then trace it onto paper of any color and cut out five identical pieces. Fold each one in half, then unfold them.

Apply glue to half of one piece on the inside, while folded, and attach half of the second piece to it. Glue all five flower parts together in the same way.

The card itself can be shaped like a bouquet. To do this, cut a rectangle from cardboard and fold it in half. Trim the excess diagonally from the bottom to the top to create a triangular postcard. Then, use scissors to make a wavy edge at the top.

The 3D flower will be placed right in the center, with its stem aligned along the fold. Following the template, you can draw pink petals and glue them in the center of the card.

When this wedding card is presented to the newlyweds, they will be delighted — after all, it’s made by the loving hands of a dear friend, and 3D cards always look impressive. The creation of such a paper masterpiece will perfectly complement the celebration.

Idea 2

The next wedding day card idea is simple yet elegant. Black symbolizes sophistication and elegance, while silver represents shine, grace, and modernity — a perfect combination for today’s wedding couple.

All you need to do is fold, cut, and glue the embellishments to create a wedding greeting card that you’ll proudly present. If you use a punch or cutting tool, it’s even easier to achieve stunning results.

Instructions

Cut the card to size. You can make this card using any silver and white geometric-themed cardstock; there are many beautiful paper designs to choose from in EM ART stores.

The cardstock we used is available in a wide range of sizes and colors. Measure and mark an 8.5 x 11-inch rectangle on the back of the paper, then use scissors—if you have a steady hand—to cut the card to the correct size.

Fold the trimmed sheet in half and sharpen the crease with a bone folder or your fingers. Cut six circles from black paper and six 1.25-inch circles from the black cardstock sheet.

Attach the self-adhesive stickers to the cut paper discs. Place the letters on the black paper circles to spell out the words “Mr. & Mrs.”

The letters have an adhesive backing, so all you need to do is center each letter on a black disc. Press firmly on the front of each letter with your fingers to ensure it sticks properly to the paper.

If you wish, you can also create rounded corners on your card using a corner punch. This added touch will give your greeting card a luxurious look, though it’s optional. Whether your card has rounded or square corners is a matter of personal preference.

Write your congratulations inside the wedding card, then place it in a black, silver, or white envelope and proudly present it to the bride and groom. They’ll love and appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into making them a handmade card for their special day.

Some couples choose to keep their wedding cards as a memento of the occasion. Who knows! Your card might still be around fifty years later when they celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.

Idea 3

Create a lace wedding card with pearls! The overall pearl details combined with lace make a stunning statement and a modern design feature that we love for any wedding celebration.

For each card, you’ll need:

Create your own romantic wedding stationery by combining beautifully textured lace with luxurious pearls. To inspire you, we’ve designed this gorgeous collection in pink and cream tones.

By changing the paper or replacing the pearls with crystals, you can create something that perfectly matches your wedding theme. Using self-adhesive pearls or crystals allows you to add beautiful, eye-catching details with an elegant finish.

Why not give it a try?

Instructions

Cut your card and paper as follows:

  • Cream or pink cardstock – 13cm x 19cm, 8.5cm x 14.5cm, and 9cm x 15cm
  • Embossed paper – 13cm x 19cm
  • Pink paper – 9cm x 15cm

Glue a row of pearls starting from one end of the insert. Carefully position the row so that it sits straight. This can be a bit tricky, but if you have a light hand, don’t press it down firmly until you’re ready — that way, you can move it if it’s not perfectly aligned.

Once you’re satisfied, press the pearls firmly into place using your fingers or thumb. Add lace elements to your creation near the pearl accents. The combination of pearls and lace creates a sense of romance and tenderness, making it a perfect choice for wedding celebrations.
